In this video you can see, from start to finish, how Sherri at Family Toy Report uses flat coloring and a simple color palette to produce a vibrant backdrop to this page from the Harry Potter Magical Creatures coloring book.
A range of pens are used, from fat nibbed prismacolors to fine tipped Staedtler fineliners. Choosing the right pen is half of the battle when coloring a page like this one that has a mix of intricate detail combined with large areas to color.

Thaneeya’s Popping Candy Skull Owl!
In this video Thaneeya colors a page from her own Day of the Dead coloring book. We like how bright neon colors are used to create a wonderful page. Not only that but Thaneeya shows how she embellished her coloring pages with some black fineliner to add extra details to the base design. Never be afraid to add your own flourishes and details to make the page your own!
