May Coloring Challenge – Our Favorites Revealed!
We had a regular procession of perfectly pristine peacocks marching their way to our Facebook and Instagram last month. Thank you so much to all of you who downloaded and colored our page! We had too many entries to showcase each of them, but a few of our favorites are shown below, along with the coloring page that we thought was the pick of the peacocks!
Sparkle and Shine
This page from Sharon Kassa Frabizio on Facebook has a glint of sparkle about it. I think that is down to either some glitter or glitter gel pens used to make some of those feathers and flowers shine.
The use of yellow, green and blue throughout the page gives this design a nice feeling of freshness and the touches of orange stand out well against the rest of the color palette. Nice work Sharon!
Refined and Radiant
The next page is a real treat! Celia Fonsalia, our pick of the pages last month, has sent us this brilliant peacock.
There are some really fine details added to those feathers and the shading on the plumage really makes this bird stand out. The feathered orange glow around the outside of the peacock is a lovely touch that adds some real warmth to the page. Superb stuff again from Celia!
Our next page from Colene Anderson has a zesty feel to it! The use of fresh green and turquoise creates a bright, clean and fresh coloring page.
We love the way Colene has used subtle gradients of greens and turquoise on those feathers creating a beautiful and proud peacock!
Bright and Bold
The colors in this next peacock coloring page are brilliant, bright and bold! Carl Elsperman shared this page with us on Facebook.
The use of bold purple and orange really catch the eye and make a great backdrop for the lighter blue and yellow used on the peacock body.
Pen and Ink
GramsLady shared her coloring with us on Instagram. Using gel pens and sharpie, Gayle has created a wonderful peacock with a great balance of color and brightness.
The background was colored with a Chameleon pen and as always, a dark background helps lift those colors from the page. We love those little flourishes of yellow at the tips of those leaves too – those are a great touch!
Thank you to everyone that entered the coloring challenge this month and it was great to see some more first time posters among the challenge entrants!
One page really caught our eye and it is this entry from Daria Vitale that gets crowned the pick of the peacocks!
Daria has beautiful and delicate finish to the peacock. Those feathered edges to the plumage are a wonderful touch and the blending of the blues and greens make this bird look like he is ready to strut right off the page! Wonderful coloring Daria!
