A warm duvet on a cold morning. A comfy chair in a quiet corner. A hot cup of tea as you look out at the rain. These are all things that can make you feel cozy.
Cozy IS Happy!
I recently read an article about how the Danish are amongst the happiest people on the planet and it appears part of it is down to how Denmark embraces the art of feeling cozy. In fact, they even have a name for it – Hygge!
Get your Hygge on!
Denmark spends the winter months in darkness and rather than allow the lack of light lower their mood, Danish people embrace Hygge and find ways to generate that cosy feeling to propel them through to the spring.
Warm spas on cold days, glittering candle light in small rooms, socialising with friends over a hot drink, these are all considered Hygge in Denmark.
Warming you up on a cold day but also evoking thoughts of childhood…
Porridge bars are popular too, warming you up on a cold day but also evoking thoughts of childhood breakfasts which ramp your coziness up! The Danes really know how to get their Hygge on!
Color yourself cozy!
This got me thinking about coloring. For me, this is definitely something that makes me feel cozy. Maybe coloring is like porridge in Denmark, a comforting taste of childhood. Or perhaps it is about where or what you are enjoying at the time…
Getting lost coloring in the corner of a room whilst you curl up on a comfortable chair.
Enjoying a satisfying treat whilst you sip a warm drink and color yourself happy.
Losing yourself in music whilst you tackle a new design.
The right atmosphere and some time to color really does help you feel relaxed, indulged and comfy through and through!
That is why I am going to be like the Danes and manufacture myself some coziness with coloring and maybe a tasty treat too!
Does coloring make you feel cozy and content? Or is it where you are and what you enjoy whilst coloring that gives you that comfy feeling? Let us know below.
