November Coloring Challenge – Our Favorites Revealed

In November we had some fantastic entries from regular participants to our coloring challenge along with some from new kids on the block!  It is great to see such a diversity of talents and techniques on show and we really appreciate everyone that participated.  A few of our favorite coloring pages, along with our chief of the coloring tribe are showcased below!

Technicolor Feathers

Chantal Chay sent in this colorful portrait.

Lovely colors on the feathers in this page from Chantal

We really like the feathers in this coloring page, a variety of different colors have been used but they work well together creating a striking headdress.

Beautifully Balanced

Janice Wiley shared her wonderful coloring page with us on Facebook.

Indian portrait coloring page.
This picture is well balanced, no one part looks to dominate the focus away from the overall portrait.

Janice and Chantal’s pages show how the same coloring page can be interpreted very differently.  Whilst Chantal’s page used color to great effect in the headdress, Janice has used minimal coloring of the feathers (with a nice outlining technique) and concentrated on framing the face with warm colors in the headband and neckline.  Super work Janice!

Bright and Warm

This colorful tribe portrait from Maria A Young uses a reduced color palette to great effect.

These colors immediately grab the attention and produce a vibrant coloring page

The color choices are warm and bright and contrast well with the neutral tone of the face.  A lovely page Maria!

Artistic Flair

Celia Fonsalia has demonstrated the same great artistic talent and coloring magic that made her our pick of the colorists back in the May Coloring Challenge.

A stunning piece of artwork from Celia.

The detail and realism in this coloring page is incredible, those feathers have real texture and the hair and eyelashes are beautifully natural.  The addition of the birds and teepees are the icing on the cake. Stunning artwork Celia!

Head of the Tribe

Thank you to all of those that entered our coloring challenge, not just last month, but throughout the year.  Fittingly we have a stunning page to sign off 2017 with…

Debbie Ward produced a shining portrait for her coloring entry in November.

Yellow and black coloring page of an Indian tribal headdress
There are lots of great coloring techniques to admire in this page from Debbie

This page has beautiful depth, provided by the great shading techniques and use of the mottled backdrop.  Nice touches like the cracks on the skull show a lovely attention to detail and the shine on the hair really helps add realism to the page and draw the eye to the face of the girl.  A lovely coloring page and a fitting way to say goodbye to the coloring challenge for 2017!  Thank you for sharing this Debbie!

Thank you to everyone who downloaded, colored and shared their page.  If you didn’t share, then don’t be shy we love seeing your work!  Whether you are a beginner, or blending like a pro, share your work and let your coloring grow!

Why not Download the free Cupcake Coloring Page and make this the start of your coloring journey for 2018!
