January Challenge – Our Picks of the Bunch!
We started off 2018 with a carnival of coloring in our January challenge, a huge thank you to everyone who dusted off their pencils or pulled out a pen to participate! We had some fantastic entries and here we round up a few of our favorites.
Not-so Mellow Yellow!
James Young shared this wonderful bird with us on facebook. The bold yellow really pops against the black detailing making this bird a real eye catcher.

The vibrancy of the colors and the shine on the paper suggests this page was colored with gel pens. Nice work James.
A Tropical Dream
This page would not look out of place in a rainforest, with a gleaming plumage of colors, Debbie Ward has once again shown her fabulous coloring skills.

There is lots to admire in this page, from the blending of colors to the subtle yellow background, we love this coloring page!
Blue Bird
Marian Martinez has used blue and orange to good effect in her bird themed coloring page.

Blue and orange are two colors that work well together and produce a pleasing result alongside the greenery in the scene.
Soft and Striking
This coloring page from Celia Fonsalia is beautifully rendered. Soft shading and beautiful colors make for a wonderful coloring page with real depth.

The subtle blue background helps the bright bird stand out and provides a pleasing backdrop to the scene. Great work Celia.
Blue Jay
Jennifer Zeiss Swart shared this characterful bird with us on Facebook. This page reminds me of one of my favorite birds, the Blue Jay.

Great colors catch the eye and the lovely pencil coloring give this page texture and depth. Lovely coloring Jennifer!
Our Bird of Paradise!
We had some wonderful coloring entries this month and it was very difficult to separate a single page as our favorite, but for choice of colors, subtlety of coloring and lovely use of detailing on the bird breast and flowers we have chosen this page by Debbie Yipp as our feathered favorite!

There is a real freshness to this page with bright, clean colors really singing together to make this bird pop from the page. Fantastic coloring Debbie, thanks for sharing your coloring skills with us again!
